It is Finished

It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, for the sun stopped shining.  And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.  Jesus called out with a loud voice,

"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

When he had said this, he breathed his last.

Crucify Him

The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace and called together the whole company of soldiers.

They put a purple robe on him,, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.  And they began to call out to him, "Hail, king of the Jews!"

Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him.

Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him.  And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him.

Then they led him out to crucify him.

Are You The Christ?

Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"

"I am", said Jesus.  "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

They all condemned him worthy of death.

Bread of Life

Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
"Take and eat; this is my body."
Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying,
"Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

Just Thirty Silver Coins

Then the one called Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.
From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
