Compassion

I'd like to introduce you to Apisit.  He lives in Thailand.  Our family adopted him through  Compassion International just two years ago.  Isn't he completely adorable??  We absolutely love getting letters from him, written for him since he is only 6, and his drawings.  I especially love his innocence.  He requests often for us to come visit him.  Oh how we wish we could!  Maybe someday in the future we could make a trip to Thailand.  What a blessing that would be!

I was honored to volunteer at a Compassion table at the Michael W. Smith concert last week.  It was fun to talk with other people who sponsor children and see the excitement in their eyes when they talked about it.  I also loved introducing people to the miracles that Compassion International is doing in the lives of so many children.  This year they surpassed a major goal of having one million children sponsored all at one time!

If you have never sponsored a child before, I want to really encourage you to take a leap of faith and do it.  It only costs $38 per month.  We spend that much on one trip to the mall!  This simple gift can completely change the life of a child and their family.  If you can't swing that amount monthly, consider giving a one time gift to Compassion.  Especially at this time of year, they can use any monetary donations to give Christmas gifts to many Compassion children who do not yet have sponsors.

Go to Compassion International to sponsor a child.  You can select by country, gender, and age.  Your heart will be touched by the beautiful faces that you see.

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."  Proverbs 31:8-9
