Mission Trip to Haiti

I have been given the distinct honor of traveling to Haiti in December on a mission trip with my church!

Whew!  It feels good to finally let you in on this news!

We are working with an amazing organization, Welcome Home Haiti, to build a new home for a very deserving Haitian family.  Two small groups from my church have been diligently raising money through fundraisers since June in an effort to raise $10,000 to build the home.  God was faithful and our money was raised in less than 60 days!  Now that is God at work!

Many families in Haiti live in a home that looks like this, totally exposed to the elements.

After the money was raised, it was sent to Haiti for the home to be built by local workmen.  Now our wonderful family will live in a home that will keep them dry and clean.

When our team of eight arrives in December, we will help finish the roof, build furniture, present household items and gifts, and dedicate the home.  It is going to be an amazing testimony of God's work in the city of Pillatre through Haitian Christian Ministries where the homes are being built.

Haitian Christian Ministries has been a driving force of change in Pillatre for many years. I can't wait to be a participant in that change!  Our church has had a relationship with them for over 20 years!

I'm not sure how you may have felt watching this video, but I get chills and overwhelming feelings rise up in my heart and soul.  This is when I know the Holy Spirit is speaking and moving within me.

My heart is stirred to do more, be more.
"Here I am Lord, send me."
So I step out in faith and say "Yes Lord".

There is still much to be done.

As with any mission trip, I must raise $1500 for my portion of the expenses for the trip before November 2nd.  In addition, I need $500 for the many immunizations that are necessary to remain healthy throughout the trip.

Would you prayerfully consider supporting me financially?  If you would like to contribute directly to my church, they can send you a receipt.  Simply send a check(with my name on the memo line) to:

Eastview Christian Church

Please be sure to enclose your contact information.

If you would like to help with the extra expenses, you can contribute directly to my paypal account.

The Lord has already been stretching me through this process. As we continue to prepare, I will be updating you all on our progress.  I would sincerely appreciate your prayers.

  3. My husband has organized several high school teams to do the same thing, they built a simple one room 'shed' the family was so thrilled. Isn't it amazing that we 'feel' we are entitled for more and fancy and even wish ours was bigger and better, when they are content with a a simple 'concrete home.' Will lift your team up in prayer.
