Texture Tuesday

As I promised, you're going to start seeing more of the many things that I love to dabble in, and as you already know, one of those things is photography.  One of my biggest subjects are the flowers growing in my garden.  I was just introduced to the beautiful artwork of Kim Klassen last week.  When I stopped by her blog to check out her work, there were only 2 days left to register for a year long class, so I jumped at the chance.  You better believe you'll be seeing some of the fruits of that labor here, so we'll start this week with Texture Tuesdays!

I went out to the yard to pick some violets.  I remember putting these in May Baskets when I was a girl.  We'd leave them on the neighbors step, ring the doorbell, and run away!  This was my original photo:

And here is my result after adding three of Kim's textures:

Or this with a completely different texture:

And this one, with another of my favorites, Lily of the Valley:

I am so excited about this Beyond Layers class!  I've been using Photoshop for over 3 years now, and with my first tutorial video with Kim, I learned two different techniques I had never known before!  If you are wanting to take your photography to the next level of art, go check out her classes, tutorials, and videos.  You will not be disappointed!

Which print do you prefer?

  1. Actually, I like the first one. But it depends on what you are using the photo for. The others are nice but I like the first one because it didn't blur the brilliant color of the violets.
Is that in the process or did you choose to modify the colors?
The wording on the last violet one, hardly shows up at all.
All are beautiful.as usual, as is any photos you do!

  8. Lovely Cherie. I wish I had Photoshop for Mac, but it is exorbitant right now. Instead, I use a number of different photo enhancing techniques. But, sometimes, I don't take the time I should. Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm so happy you left a comment!~~Dee
