Life Lessons from Blogging

"Our life's journey of self-discovery is not a straight-line rise from one level of consciousness to another. Instead, it is a series of steep climbs and flat plateaus, then further climbs. Even though we all approach the journey from different directions, certain  journey's characteristics are common to all of us."   Stuart Wilde

Deep within my soul there has always been a desire to be more. It is not a desire for success, for more money, to be famous, or the like.  It is a desire to be a woman of God,  submerged in His love, abounding in grace for others, deeply immersed in his Word, confident and strong in my faith.

As my journey has led me through the blogging world, I feel ever closer to my heart's desire.  Blog writers that I have encountered over the last six months have encouraged me in ways that they will never know.  The blogging world is full of incredible talent, inspiring, Godly women, committed moms, courageous homeschoolers, and new friends.  And they have each impacted my life in incredible ways.

I have broken through a glass ceiling in my prayer journey that I have longed to shatter.  I am in the process of breaking down strongholds that have imprisoned me for most of my life.  I am reclaiming the responsibility of training my children daily in the Word of God.  I've been inspired like never before to dig deeper into the Bible with my family.  I am more determined than ever to shield and protect my children from the pollution of this world.

To those blog authors, I am deeply thankful: for your dedication to writing from your heart, for your transparency through life's difficulties, and the example you set to keep moving forward in the journey of faith.

I pray that while we all as blog writers will go through those slower and discouraging valleys, that we continue the climb, not giving up on the word's that God places on our heart to encourage those we've never met.  The ministry of blogging encourages so many on a daily basis and has the opportunity to work as God's hand in changing lives.  I'm so thankful that he used it to change mine.

  2. This is beautiful. I've had much the same experience. I am so thankful for a group of women who I have never met who consistently encourage and lift me up in prayer. It really does keep me moving forward in my faith journey.

Amen, and Amen! May we never forget why we blog, or for Whom we blog. May we always seek to honor Him through our words and deeds!

Love that paragraph! That should be the desire of us all!

  7. Wonderful post! I too have been so encouraged by other bloggers. Isn't it great that we can encourage each other without ever having met?

  8. What a beautiful post. Rather than get wrapped up in all the numbers, I'm trying to think of blogging as sort of a chat over coffee with some girlfriends... learning from each other, laughing at stories, sharing our struggles. You said it so well here.
