Homemade Moisturizer
Do you get tired of reading the ingredients on products you are using and not being able to pronounce, let alone understand what is listed there? It's quite scary.
I've been incorporating essential oils in my health care because of their amazing benefits, and I thought an easy recipe for a moisturizer was in order. So I simply looked up several of the oils that I have on hand to see what their benefits are to the skin, in particular, I was looking for facial benefits.
I started with coconut oil. It deeply nourishes the skin and is completely natural. I added just a tablespoon or so of Jojoba oil to soften the coconut oil, also a great oil for your skin. Then I decided on Young Living (the absolute best!) Frankincense and Geranium for my oils-just a couple drops each. Both are fantastic for the face, as they regenerate skin growth, smooth wrinkles, and fight against acne.
I simply put them all in a bowl and whipped them. What I love about the coconut oil is that it has a sweet fragrance, but it DOES NOT smell like coconut! {'cause I don't like coconut!} The other plus is that frankincense is very strong, and mixed with the coconut, it is not even noticeable. All of the benefits without the strong smell.
Can't wait to see the results. I am using this on my face, but also my itchy arms and legs during this dry winter.

Let me know how that works. I'm all for hiding from those wrinkles.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to see how you like that. Keep me posted. I've been looking for a new, natural moisturizer. Coconut oil alone wasn't great for me, but I can see where adding the additional oils would help.
